Understanding and healing after Sexual Violence

This is an 8 week course supporting you in understanding and healing after sexual violence using a trauma-informed approach. It is safe space where we: explore societal attitudes towards sexual violence, and how they have shaped and informed our responses; understand our trauma responses and reactions, and the affect they have on our everyday lives; and how we define and understand ourselves, our strengths and future goals, after sexual violence. Each week we learn and practice how to care for ourselves from grounding to self-sooth and comfort, to body awareness and mindfulness to positively re-connect with our bodies, to kindness, self-compassion and gratitude to begin to know, appreciate and perhaps fall in love with who we are. This is open to women aged 18+.
